Our Goal

Why Inclusive
Education
?

There are between 93 and 150 million children living with a disability globally, many of whom are denied the right to an education because, they’re disabled . In low- and middle-income countries as many as 33 million disabled children are out of school. Missing out on education not only affects the quality of life for individuals and their families, it also has a negative economic impact for countries. A study by the International Labour Organization found that countries lose between 3% and 7% of Gross Domestic Product by excluding people with disabilities from the job market. All children have the right to education. Inclusive education ensures the participation of all students in schooling. It involves restructuring the culture, policies and practices in schools so they have to respond to the diversity of students in their locality.

Ensuring Inclusive Education

Partnering with Activists

We partner with disability activists in Tanzania to empower disabled children and their families access to education. We work with teachers and schools to help them deliver inclusive environments, and together we hold powerholders to account to deliver on their obligations.
